Literature Text

One fall day
He met me
I met him
And we met each other.
I wonder: can he see me?
Or am I just another?
He spoke with such eloquence
Intelligence
Reverence
And a smile lit his face.
If I think of him too often
My heart begins to race.
I cannot say just how I feel
I cannot have this man of steel
For I am broken
And he is not
And in my heart, this special spot.
I made it just for him
To have, to stay
For all of my tomorrows
Starting yesterday.
Hello everyone. Sorry I have been gone for so long. I am all settled in at the University of Michigan and have been working diligently to get my work together enough to post on here.

Here is a recent poem I did. It's about a young man here in the ROTC. He is an amazing human being, and he totally inspired me the other day to write this. It actually is NOT  a love poem, although it does read like one.

As always, read, enjoy, critique, comment, etc. I would love some feedback. I have yet to edit this so any comments are much appreciated!
